Araber in Motion
A study I started back in 2006. The reference photo for this one was found in a brochre. The movement and the horses expression had caught my eye.

Arabian head study
This beautiful animal is owned by Ajman stud and the reference photo can be found in the quite well-known book "Equus" by Tim Flach. The peace, and grace of the horses is breath-taking… this has to be caught on paper!

Andalusian
This is also a portrait that was started in 2006. The mane part turned out to be much harder to finish than I had guessed and this is pretty much the reason why this portrait sums up so much time. The reference photo is from C. Pinnekamp

Opinions

It was a pleasure to see your drawings online. It is clear that you possess a fine and natural sensitivity to the form of the horse – the best ability to have! I read “about” you on your website, and it certainly sounds like a familiar story to my own at your age…

Nadja has shown a remarkable talent from a very young age, especially as an emerging equine artist. She is gifted with a good eye to see the horse as it is and to capture its spirit and essence. She will one day be recognized in a much bigger way for the fabulous work she does; its more like a passion for art rather than work.
